HAPPY HORROR-DAYS! I MEAN HOLIDAYS!

Greetings, everyone! Hope you're filled to the brim with yuletide cheer, humming Christmas carols and wrapping presents while roasting your nuts--chestnuts!--on an open fire. Just wanted to fill you in on some tidbits of news, and wish you all a joyous holiday season. (Oh, and if you're looking for that perfect stocking stuffer, or something to set by the milk and cookies for jolly ole Saint Nick, all four issues of Horrorwood are for sale in the Ape Store Wink wink.)
First off, to recap our trip to Dallas. We had a fantastic time. We met some great creators, getting to see some long distance friends like the charming David Hopkins, whose barbeque bash was a ton of fun. (As a side note, I met someone there who didn't know that Soylent Green was people. I mean, seriously, did he live in a cave?! IT'S PEOPLE!) We also got to spend some time over at the Hero Initiative booth, where Brent met legendary artist George Perez. And the cool, geek-out moment came when we got to hand all four issues of our book to Ed Brubaker (who writes Captain America, Daredevil, Criminal, Gotham Central, and many more titles you HAVE to read). Ed nodded his head, smiled, and said, "Sweet. I've heard of this." Yeahbutwha...? What a perfect blurb for the graphic novel. "Sweet. I've heard of this."-Ed Brubaker
We also got to spend some quality time with the gang from Ape Entertainment, as evidenced by the photo below. Here we are with Kevin Freeman, Brent Erwin, and David Hedgecock. These guys are a reckoning force in comics. They know what's quality, and they go after it. And thanks to Brent's 'free sketch' tactic, Mr. Schoonover was drawing like the wind all weekend.

So on to other news. Like I mentioned earlier, all four issues are out! We picked them up while we were in Texas, and they hit shelves the following week. If you're sill looking for your copy, they're easy to find online at the Ape Store (I'm SHAMELESS!). We also have something really sweet. It's something we started at the Dallas convention. It's the 'Biggest Fan' gift pack. For 30 bucks, you can get all four books signed, a sketch on a limited edition sketch card, a bag of microwave popcorn, and a Horrorwood T-shirt! What a steal! Here's what they look like:
Coming in February, Previews will be re-soliciting the book as a gift set. This gift set will include the limited edition Shot List, the book of concept art that was originally intended for WWTexas. Due to printer delays, the book was not ready, but if retailers pre-order the gift set come February, it'll be included. "Will you be publishing a graphic novel?" you ask. You bet your sweet tuckus we will be. It should come along next summer. We're very excited, we've got some great ideas brewing for it.
And last, since I know this is getting long, Wizard magazine is looking for indie books to highlight in their companion book, Wizard Edge. We'd love to have you tell them what you think of the book. All you have to do is CLICK HERE, register an account (it's free), and let them know the genius of Horrorwood.
That's all for now. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for an amazing year. We could not have done this without any of you. So have a happy holiday season, go get yourself stuck under some mistletoe, and we'll see you in 2007. This is just the beginning of the story!
All the best,
B & B
